This Redtailed Hawk was photographed on a power pole at the foot of Kitt Peak
This is the same bird and taken only seconds after the one above. It proceeded to fluff it self up which appears to be a way of either cleansing the feathers or keeping warm. Since this photo was taken in February it could be either.
This shot was taken from the base of the 4 meter telescope on Kitt Peak looking up. The telescope is located 12 stories above the ground.
